EJ and John grab a pot of coffee and get on their PCs late at night to bring you a special after-dark edition of Tres Komikeros. Books reviewed this week include Secret Six #13, Dark Reign THE LIST: Avengers #1 (i know!), and Kick-Ass #7. After a round of Quick Shots and War of Thumbs, the boys deliver some opinions about the Trades vs Monthlies debate.

Show’s kinda laid back without Alex eh?
Yeah, one shot trades do work. Frank Miller did it with Sin City ( I think it was Family Values), and most indie people do it. Blankets? Boom! One shot book. The last League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? Boom! One shot book. Arnold Arre does this with impunity.
There is a thrill to collecting monthlies though, specially when the creative team is really good and they give you cliffhangers at the end of every episode that drive you nuts for the next 30 days… oh man. I’m collecting X-Men Forever now. Not exactly the absolute best book out, but I like this kind of comic book and I love being able to collect monthly (or twice a month in this case) like I used to.
I also enjoy these prestige format books that Azzarello(sp?) seems to always rock. Joker with Bermejo was just a lovely little hand grenade of Gotham fiction.
nabuntis nato si alex “you should be drawing” cipriano..hahaha!! bolland’s work is also great..his killing joke was super.
Hey! That’s a nice picture of me! I’m deeply touched! Thanks you guys…
